7-18-08 Well these past 10 days have been very interesting. It has been excellent then slow then excellent again. We have been on some solid trout for 6-7 weeks with some average to slower days mixed in. Nothing has changed these past two weeks. Limits and near limits for 4 days then the tide just shut down for 3-4 days witch caused us to really grind it out just to catch 8-12 trout then the past 3 days we have got back on them! We even got 2nd place money in the ABC tournament today. Rod and friends did a good job weighing in 23.02 lbs. That was really good considering we only weighed in one red fish. The 4 trout they weighed in were really nice with the biggest being 5.65lbs. Congratulations guys !!! We are still using live croaker fished over shell for the best results. It's really important to pay attention to the tides this time of year. Some days the tide is just too slow or coming in later in the day, so you have to plan your trip around that. Try to fish the incoming tide and some clear water and you should have some success. As for locations fishing the deeper water in Trinity bay around some of the wells have been good, the north shoreline in upper West bay has produced, the mid bay reefs in East bay have been steady and the jetties have really been on fire when the winds have been right. Free-lining live shrimp close to the rocks have worked best. Well until next time, See you on the water.

7-7-08 This fishing report is almost too good to be true. Our past 8-10 trips have been great to excellent !!! We have really had some wonderful trips. The weather has been great and the fishing has even been better. Most trips have been limits or near limits and even the slower days have produced some good boxes of fish. The trout have ranged from 18in. to 26in. on most trips and 2-5lb. trout are the norm. Now we still call this FISHING and not catching - it can change from day to day. I have been a guide for 9 yrs. and I ve fished Galveston bay for over 20 yrs. and believe me I know that the days we have been having are possible, but it won't last forever. Our customers have really enjoyed their fishing experience and that's what really counts. Check out some of our recent catches on our home page. As for location it's not a big secret that East bay reefs (mid bay and both shorelines), Trinity bay, Campbells area and the jetties (channel sides) have produced some good trout over the past week. With the weather we have had, the fishing has been good just about anywhere. The key like always is structure and bait. We have been booked for the past month or so, but this month we do have a few openings so give us a call. Well until next time, See you on the water.

6-27-08 Fishing for the past 10 days has been excellent on some days and average to slow on others. When the weather has been right we have caught near limits to limits of trout. We went through a four day stretch of catching some really nice 3-6 lb. trout and limits. Then we got on that FULL moon and fishing really slowed down. We did manage to catch some fish, but not nearly the numbers we had been use to. I have had some really great customers over the past two weeks. The fishing can change from day to day as the weather does, but my customers have still managed to catch some fish and really enjoy their trip. And I should have known that the wind would make another appearance !!! Yes the wind came back strong on Weds. night and it made fishing really tough for Thurs., Fri. & Sat. Good news is it's suppose to lay down starting on Sun. So fishing should pick up again. Believe me the trout are out there and they are healthy. We just have to deal with mother nature. As for locations- we will be trying a few different areas mainly in East bay and hopefully the channel will pick up. All the bays are holding good fish, we just need some consistent weather. Well until next time, See you on the water.

6-15-08 First I want to apologize about not having any reports lately. My laptop was down & I had to get it restored. Everything is up & running again. I will get back to giving a report every 6-10 days, so check in once a week. As for fishing it finally has turned on. The weather has been good lately & fishing has been great. We have been catching some solid trout these last couple of trips. Some trout have pushed the 6 lbs. range. I have also received some reports of trout up to 8 lbs. being caught in the same area we have been fishing. We have been using live croaker over shell reefs for the best results. Drifting certain areas have also produced good trout & redfish. The conditions are right and the fish are in their traditional spots. Mid bay reefs in East bay have been good to excellent, some spots on the channel have been good & Trinity bay has been excellent. I have also received good reports from other guides from all over the bay system. Live bait & artificials have both been productive. Overall fishing has been excellent. The weather & fishing can change quickly, but with all the winds we have had this year I feel great to give a good fishing report. We still have some days open over the next 2 weeks, so if you want to take advantage of the good weather & fishing give us a call. Until next time, See you on the water.

5-21-08 Ok we still have some strong winds that are making our bay system unpredictable. The open bays especially East Bay and Trinity Bay haven't been able to stay clean. Fishing has suffered. The good news is we have still been able to have some good and great days of fishing. We have had four excellent trips this past week with limits and near limits of trout. The trout have ranged from 16-26 inches. These past trips have produced at least 5-6 trout over 25 inches. We have also been able to catch some good size sand trout and whiting. The key for us has been to fish protected shorelines with live shrimp. As for the locations, that all depends on the wind direction. This time of the year we are usually fishing the mid bay reefs, but the wind has us confined to the shorelines. I wanted to say thanks to John for inviting us to participate in the N.E. Baptist Church Outdoors Day. My brother and I had a great time out there and look forward to next year. Great job guys. Anyway until next time, See you on the water.

5-14-08 This report won't be one of my best. That's an understatement. Good oh mother nature is back at her old tricks. Yes the wind is back or maybe I should say the wind is still here! Man we just haven't caught a break this spring. I expect wind in March & April, but it's the middle of May. Ok enough complaining let's get to the fishing. We haven't been out much this week due to the winds, but when we have went we have had some decent trips. The trout are still on the shorelines & we are still using live shrimp. I have noticed that the flounder are starting to move in. Most everyone I know likes to fish the RUN in the Oct.-Dec., but the flounder also migrate back into the bay in April and May. You can catch some nice quantity this time of year, but most of them are in the small range. We are going to start using croaker this coming week so make sure to check back with us next week. Until next time, See you on the water.

5-08-08 Well this week has been real simple: Good weather excellent fishing - near limits and limits of trout; Bad weather (high winds) tough fishing. We have been able to catch some fish with the high winds, but we really have to grind it out. Sometimes when the winds are high and the water is dirty or both you just have to bite the bullet and go catch fish. Trout and redfish are always are #1 goal, but mother nature sometimes has other plans. We are still using shrimp under a popping cork near the shorelines and when possible soft plastics have worked under birds on an incoming tide. Hopefully the bay will have a chance to clear up so we can get out to the mid bay reefs and catch some of those hungry trout. When the wind has been right the causeway bridge up to Tx. City has been productive. I look for East Bay to turn on real soon. By the way Bass Pro Shops (Pearland) is going to start having a GUIDE NIGHT once a month on Weds. evenings at 7p.m. Four guides freshwater & saltwater (inshore & offshore) are going to be giving seminars & answering questions about anything to do with fishing. Refreshments will be available. The 1st one will be on May 21st. If you get a chance please come out and visit with us. Until next time, See you on the water.
